"Seems like for the first time today I really seen the white man-I really seen him"

In the past where we used to have segregation and many laws that did not allow blacks and whites to mingle. For this quote it really shows an opening up of the eyes of the soul. The black man is seeing that everyone is the same in this melting pot and we all bleed the same colors. He no longer wants to have revenge on the white guy for his past doings and stoop down to his level. I felt like this quote is touching and a great finish to the piece. It really hits the inner soul of a being.
