AMBER FAHRNER BLOG POST # 2

"You have endless ways you can commit suicide without dying dying."

When first reading the quote out of the book context I associated the word suicide with a bridge. Then I found this picture with all the confusion and different directions and put it together with the quote's saying of endless possibilities. In the book the quote fits in the craziness of a husband who is in a sponge coma and a wife who does nothing but take pills and drink. It relates to the endless day to day lives of these two individuals. The stress the wife faces and the endless reason she may want to jump off that bridge. The picture represents something that is not ending, that even with all the bad things that are happening in the peoples lives in the novel you will still be their. The quote to me represents that their can be so many trivial matters in life and what someone decides to do with them can be endless. The outcome may be unknown but their will always be one. I chose this picture because there is no start or finish to the bridge in the picture it takes you where you want to go. You will not die off this bridge just continue on forever.
