Myall Budden #11/13

“The dry voice in his mind advised him that he spent far too much time worrying about things like that.”

Simply put, life can be complicated and challenging. There always seems to be a little voice in your head that reminds you of the trials and tribulations that people have to endure. Yet, at the same time life is so sweet and there is too much to offer not to enjoy it. Sometimes even the simple things can be the best times of your life. The quote above made me think of the little things that can damper or ruin your day or even life. Thus, the below painting correlates to the passage above by illustrating the happiness the man has for something as simple as fishing. In life you can either complicate things and think about them until they overtake you, or you can recognize the things in your life that bring happiness and enjoyment. I believe the author of the painting was trying to send this message, just as the author of the passage was highlighting the exact opposite. Life is what you make it, and when you allow petty things to take away from the happiness that life has to offer, it is you that is making the mistake.
