BRIAN STANIS POST 11 OF 13

"While black people in the South challenged the prevailing racial order by direct political action, most white Americans accepted the status-quo and tried to change themselves to fit into it."

This powerful quote represents so many different things from our countries history. It brings about the point that americans were and still are very self-centerd. It shows how Americans wanted to change themselves to fit into whatever they felt good, where as blacks felt America needed to change so they could fit in. It is ironic because if Americans put as much effort into racial equality as they did into wanting to fit in the country would have become united at an earlier time. this picture not only shows whites solving their problem and fitting together, but also brings blacks to fit in in the same way.
