LISA M. LUGO BLOG POST 11/13

"There'll be a lot of drinking and a lot of money changing hands. That means women present and women mean trouble."

Even though I think women are amazing creatures, we are mostly related to two things: money and business. In my opinion, women are not individuals who depend from the power of others to feel like they have accomplished something. However, throughout the book and based on the main character's attitude, women are seeing as material things. Frank underestimates the power women have over men because he cannot admit he does not have the emotional stability he could have with the love of his life. Therefore, in the book women are used and left without any explanation or complain. This is why I chose the picture by Costa Manos, Boston 1974 Pilgrim Theater, because it shows the attachment women have towards men. I believe it relates to the quote because, Frank views women as weak and greedy. He represents women as trouble, because it is "something" you need to take care of and I think this picture shows the behavior Frank sees in females. It is something you can easily get but can also get you in trouble if you show your power status; this can mean you can provide stability emotionally and financially but you choose not to which causes conflict.
