Ala Salem; #11 of 13

"Someday, white men would come to this country and the Mayans would mistake them for gods. The return of the great white god Quetzalcoatl. There were hundreds of tales of a white-skinned, blond-haired, blue-eyed man who had been a god come down from the sky. Legends said he had the power of the sun and fire."

This quote reminds me a lot about racism and discrimination at it's peak way before the twentieth and twenty first century. Also, the fact that every now and then occasional incidences involving racism happens bothers me a lot. After all, white and black are just two different colors. Just as everyone comes in different shapes and sizes, we all come in different colors. A person must be judged by aspects, like accomplishments, achievements, etc... and not by the color that God gave him/her. No matter what color a person is, that person has feelings, passions, goals, dreams, desires,etc... This visual is by far the most explicit and I find it to be too general. It's like saying "Don't discriminate against anyone. Period".
