Evan Adams #6/13

"Andy was looking at Hadley with those cold, clear, calm eyes, and it wasn't just the thirty-five thousand then, we all agreed on that. I've played it over and over in my mind and I know. It was man against man, and Andy simply forced him, the way a strong man can force a weaker man's wrist to the table in a game of Indian rasseling."

In this scene, Andy interrupts one of the guards during a conversation he was having with another guard. The guard was discussing his financial matters. He immeditely is attained by the guards for speaking out of turn, however, Andy continues to stay calm and continue talking. This is one of the moments in the book where the narrator realizes how different Andy is than everyone else. I chose this specific picture, because it reminds me of Andy. His face is practically expressionless, and his eyes seem, as the book puts it, "cold," "clear," and "calm."
