Carly Gaffney Blog #7

"She had an incredible range to her voice and just let it go, trilling some strange tune that had a familiar note, but was interpreted out its symphonic character."

This voice in the book is a distinct voice. One that captured the attention of man because of the beauty of her sound and familiarity. A nice voice is something people like to encounter. A lot can be interpreted by a song and the tone can affect the meaning behind a song. You show emotion with song. Music is known to affect people's moods and attitudes. It is a way to make people feel certain emotions or even to rub off an idea. Music can be used as advertising and entertainment. Sometimes that is conveyed with the lyrics, but isn't truly known without singing a song with the right emotion. This image entitled "woman in the evening" is a woman singing amongst a crowd, maybe political. There is a picture of a flag in the background so maybe she is singing something of patriotism. There is eloquence in her stance and emotion because of the way she extends her arm or the wideness of her mouth. Both are implications. This can also be song of propaganda-it looks as if it were taken in the early days were government tried to implement certain ideas. The point is that this quote and picture are sending out a message.
