Ala Salem; #7 of 13

"The dozen naked women who walked behind the great chief watched him nervously; as if he might strike when angered."

Back in the days of the Mayan Empire, women were treated as both slaves and sex objects for men's pleasure and/or entertainment. Also, these women had to make sure that they did their job of pleasing the men properly. First, they had to be naked at all times, and second, they had to provide all the services that their male masters required...otherwise, they'd be physically tortured, whether it would be getting beaten, lashed, etc... Therefore, I've chosen Tracey Mofatt's Laudanum: det.: image #11 in series. Personally, I think the image strongly depicts women as being sex slaves, because the woman in the picture is naked and seems to be manipulated by the individual standing over her.
